This post launches a series that looks back at "THE NINES", our free, on-line event held last September.
We have another great event coming up on March 3, 2010 with a very similar format but I wanted to take a few posts and point back to some of the great teaching you may have missed. Watch this space for a big announcement soon.
My friend Rick Warren concluded THE NINES after about 12 hours of other speakers. (Don't worry, the next one won't be as long) Rick was very patient to wait and go last and very gracious in his video.
Rick looked great and here are a few quotes:
"I am concerned that our churches grow larger through evangelism, warmer through fellowship, broader through ministry, wider through our missions program, deeper through discipleship."
"I care about poverty, disease, illiteracy, injustice, reformation, having the church be the church."
"But none of this will happen unless we deal with the perpetual immaturity of the church."
"People are growing old, but not up."
I will leave those with you but encourage you to watch the whole message. It was fantastic.
I know a bunch of you stuck around to the end of the conference and heard it but for those who didn't, take a listen.
It looks like Rick and Saddleback are hosting a great conference out in Lake Forest, California in February. The Radicalis Experience. Looks like LOTS OF GOOD FOLKS. Check it out here http://www.pastors.com/groups/pd_conferences//default.aspx
I am trying to find a way to go myself!
And you can follow Rick at @rickwarren on twitter. He is a great encourager and a great friend of Leadership Network.
